EPCOT Spaceship Earth

The hardest thing was making the outer facade of Spaceship Earth, or the “giant golf ball at Disney World’s EPCOT” as some of you may know it.

I started with a IcoSphere with four subdivisions. I then extruded individual faces for every face, scaled them out a little, then scaled each face to zero with the pivot point being individual origins. I removed doubles and then had to figure out how to separate and make each face it’s own object so I could scale them down a little. I went to the Blender section of Stack Exchange to get some help doing this quickly as my object had over 3,000 faces.
